Senritsu meikyû 3D

Dire horror film has some interesting ideas (and the set-up is suitably creepy) but is ultimately compromised by some seriously goofy 3D effects (having watched the film in 2D, I can only imagine how much worse the full effect would have been with the added dimension!) Technical merits aside, the story is terribly derivative and predictable, and performances are generally poor.

I watched this at the Munich "Fantasy Filmfest" yesterday. I was quite disappointed actually, I didn't find anything scary in the whole movie, nothing made me jump (at least Ju-On had those weird noises). Overall there was just too much unintensionally comical stuff, like weird flying bunny backpacks and seemingly crude dialogue (although that could be the translation). At least now I have another pair of 3D glasses and the wish go back in time and watch "Survival of the Dead"

Striking visuals, a creepy hospital and mediocre acting does not make a good horror film. This film is almost completely free of scares or tension, so whats left is an interesting to look at story that fails to engage or scare.
