Sepia Cinderella

Like most African-American flicks of the time, the plot is as pointless as can be, and just an excuse to do some music. Fairly bland with a few minor highlights. Does have a odd cameo of washed-up child star Freddie Bartholomew endorsing the film's star Billy Daniels while promoting his own post-WWII plans of touring the circuit. He did seem like he had more to offer the entertainment industry, but his comeback never came and he ended up taking a more administrative role in later years.
