Sergeant Murphy

One of Ronald Reagan's best remembered films was playing second fiddle to a chimpanzee in Bedtime for Bonzo (1951), but he also, in one of his first top-billings, played the sidekick to a horse! Sergeant Murphy (1938) is for the most part a load of horse manure, though Reagan does present us with some amusing moments. Unfortunately his female co-star Mary Maguire had the screen aura of vacuum and the film as a whole dragged quite badly.
