The unrated version contains flubbed lines, going-on-too-long takes, extra dirty ADR and badly greenscreened nude people just because, all of which seem like improvements to me (apart from a 2 hour runtime). It's basic teen comedy stuff, but I'll be damned if this didn't have some inspired moments. Marsden and Green were surprisingly amusing. Why I was watching this when I'm at least twice as old as the target audience you ask? Well, you see, the reason is oh woops look at the time gotta go

A solid teen sex comedy / road trip movie. It has a million predictable elements and pieces snatched from other, older films, but it's constructed with non-cynical love and care and affection for the genre and the three main characters are all extremely likable. My favorite "teensploitation" since Superbad.

It's not a masterpiece or anything but I did laugh quite a few times - and that was the point. I love awkward situations and this is full of them. James Marsden was great and so was Seth Green. Bit of a surprise, I was expecting this to be god awful - it's actually pretty decent.

Completely predictable and largely forgettable, but I laughed more than I'd care to admit. There are some really funny gags in this movie, but overall it's a mixed bag. Clark Duke makes it watchable for the most part, and Marsden breathes life into his cliche of a character. Also: the girls. Oh, the girls! But it's not enough. The movie surprised me by not being total crap, but it stretches its thin plot too far. Its best quality is that it should springboard Duke into getting bigger roles.

Top badass moment? Having recently watched X-Men, it was great to see James Marsden reprise his role as Cyclops in this, his origins movie. After seeing the emotional stress his younger brother puts him under when trying to lose his virginity, it’s easy to see how Cyclops developed those red beam things out of his eyes; (the ones he uses to great effect in X-Men to trash a station, when he sees how eye wateringly expensive the ticket he wants to buy is). No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

Absolutely hilarious, especially the first 30 minutes or so. It's very watchable and I'd definitely see it again. I laughed a lot, and in some aspects I liked it more than Superbad or American Pie or other teenage-themed virginity films. I was expecting this to be average but it was really memorable.

decent comedy, just that it seems like from a comedy-kit, a part from here, a part from there, that's the movie ... nothing innovative or new, the gay bully brother, amish jokes, ... and whats with the naked ladies crossing the screen all the time ?! still fun to watch though

This was one of those movies I didn't expect much from, but I laughed a lot. It's been done a billion times but I think this movie exceeds most the others. The unrated version is funny too. It's nice to see someone actually take advantage of their unrated abilities. And the girls in this movie are just, just fantastic.

Disappointing in its use of the same standardised tone and cinematic language that is becoming ubiquitous in American cinema and particularly teen cinema; nevertheless, there are a handful of decent laughs and risqué moments that you don't see everyday. Beyond these few cute and spontaneous moments there is little to appreciate in the characters, writing or plot, but what did you expect? If you have low expectations this is at least an easy and pleasant ride.

As always with these movies, every girl here looks miraculously stunning, so getting behind the premise is a stretch. It's like someone who lives at disneyland takes a trip to detroit, because he heard they have ice cream there, too. I must admit having had a couple of laughs here and there, and James Marsden takes the cake, even with that cop out character "twist" of his.

I feel like any joke I make about this movie is too easy. Low hanging fruit. It's a star studded cast for such cliched tripe, and Seth Green almost makes up for the rest of it. Also, wtf is Fallout Boy? The most famous and prettiest member of the band is their bass player, while some Ed Sheeran looking ogre does all the singing? Joe Jackson's career sputtered because of music videos? Fuck that noise. Fuck, was Smashmouth unavailable?

A raunchy but typicial teen sex comedy with enough laughs to keep you entertained for 90 minutes. Predictable movie but it has an enjoyable cast and a lot of the gags that don't shy away from its R-rated goodness. Worth checking for a chuckle.

Okay, so all of the road trip elements have been done before and been done better but its still good for a laugh or two. Only real drawback is the requisite supermodel best friend who dips the proceeds from farcical to outright fantasy. Just once I'd like to see one of these movies where the platonic love interest remains unrequited or the Kumaresque best friend has a moment of pessimism. But what kind of expectations can you bring to a movie with a title like "Sex Drive".

Surprisingly, this is pretty funny - not exceptional - but for 'Superbad' fans or the "American Pie" crowd, this is an easy watch. Seth Green and James Mardsen have hilarious supporting performances, and while some of it is hit-and-miss, it usually hits pretty well. Hopefully this one finds a greater audience on video than it did in theaters.

Sex Drive is a mindless teenage T & A comedy that tries really hard to go places where its predecessors haven't. Considering the hundred or so other movies about horny, nerdy teenagers on a quest to get laid for their first time, just how many difficult and funny situations can you concoct during your mundane plot line?? How about partying with naughty, hip Amish people?? Or, sitting on a public toilet that has a glory hole in it. (Rolling eyes). Very lame, adolescent humor. Not recommended.

Succeeds where so many other similar movies of this ilk fail, it tries pretty hard but it's actually pretty damn successful. The makers of "Miss March" and "College" would do well to learn from this picture or stop making movies altogether.

Unoriginal and lame. Oh gawd, the homophobic brother ACTUALLY TURNS OUT TO BE GAY! Who saw that coming? Actually, when your script has the subtlety of a chainsaw to the groin, everyone did. Seth Green as the sarcastic Amish guy was the only redeeming quality.

There isn't one original idea in "Sex Drive". Only James Marsden's douchy older brother character, Rex, and Seth Green's sarcastic Amish character make this film worth paying any attention to. Still, even their jokes get old. Lance is a smooth talker who looks the most awkward of the bunch, yet manages to get the women. There are no original jokes. You can name where you've seen many of the jokes in movies as recent as "Superbad". Trying to tack on a half-baked story was the biggest mistake.

It's an OK movie. There are a few very funny moments and the three main characters do a good job, but too many of the side characters are absurd and take away from the realism of the movie. The older brother is way too homophobic and weird and his turn at the end could have been predicted after you first meet the character...actually the whole movie is pretty predictable and you can guess what the end result will be pretty quick. It's funny enough to watch once but nothing more.

Blah, Seth Green doesn't save this. It has a few funny moments, the lead actress really is attractive and the acting was decent enough. But there comes a point where you have to pull out (ho ho, I made a sex joke) and just let the comedy breathe. They just throw joke after joke and very few of them stick. And the film has no real heart. You can make a silly movie with some kind of life to it. Mostly everything just falls flat.

Ridiculously absurd in every way, shape, and form... There are dozens of times where I knew EXACTLY what was coming, but it still made me laugh a lot of the way through. Also, like in many situations, though he was only in a very small portion of it, Seth Green steals the fucking show. After all, Seth Green as an Amish guy? The mere premise promises comic gold.

I didn't think I was going to like this, as the first 15 minutes hits every cliche & overused joke in the book. But once they hit the road it gets much better, with plenty of fresh humor to make this worth watching. Amanda Crew is endearing, Clark Duke's character is likeable as hell, James Marsden puts a nice spin on a character that could have been a cookie cutter, and Seth Green's comic timing is perfect.

Despite its premise, this is a harmless teen comedy that would pass an afternoon if there was nothing else on. Like all these sorts of films, which is made up of a series of funny visual or verbal jokes, some work, and some dont ... hey, I expect I like some, while others like others. ... but Seth Green's cameo was good fun. VERY predictable, but not bad, and I could see myself in "Ian", so was an extra 10% funny for me.

It's not awful, but it isn't great either. As far as raunchy comedies go, it's got plenty of the usual gags about sex and semen and naughty bits. But, it also surprisingly comes up with a lot of its own stuff and doesn't reach for too much low-hanging fruit. Performances are solid all around. Green steals the show as a wisecracking Amish man, and Duke does good work as an overconfident playboy. The final twist is interesting, and the plot as about as good as it can be. Overall, an okay comedy.
