When Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) first got together, their romantic connection was intense - but ten years and two kids later, the flame of their love needs a spark. To kick things up a notch, they decide - why not? - to make a video of themselves trying out every position in The Joy of Sex in one marathon three-hour session. It seems like a great idea - until they discover that their most private video is no longer private. (imdb)

A film that inadvertently displays how miserable being a parent is and then throws in some shots of Diaz's ass to hopefully make you forget that you are watching crap. The entire premise of the movie is that Jason Segel doesn't know how to use Google to figure out how to erase an iPad. If they want us to believe that you have to show shots of them fumbling with technology or just being idiots in general or baby boomers or something. Just a flawed and stupid movie with almost no laughs.

The exposition at the beginning of the film was fucking terrible. The movie felt like a 90 minute Apple advertisement and the writer of the film shows how disillusioned and detached he is from todays society by giving us this picturesque family that just gives away iPad's. In fact the only reason I gave it a score this high was for Cameron Diaz's ass. If you're looking for a good laugh look elsewhere.

A lot of this Apple commercial doesn't make any sense, and the acting is sometimes downright bad, but I have to admit I laughed a bunch of times.

Huh. Huh. 69. No. 14 in the "My Wife Gets to Pick the next Netflix Movie" series deviates ever so slightly from the romantic comedy films I've come to expect to. Look, I wouldn't say that Segel gets a lifetime pass from me for Nick Andopolos and his GREAT cameo as the psycho boyfriend from Undeclared, but I have a soft spot for the guy. He's just playing his HIMYM character here. Diaz plays exactly the role you'd expect. Thin premise, 2-3 laughs. My wife is happy. I guess it's all good. iPADS!!!

The product placement was so horrible, that at first I thought it was part of the joke. But eventually I realized, it was no joke. There was one very funny scene in this film, but that was it.

It totally helps that the two leads are quite charismatic and likeable because the rest of the film is 'meh'. There are a few laughs to be had (though some of the jokes fall completely flat) but the main issue is the plot. It is really lazy and more importantly, it misses out on a massive opportunity to add a little intrigue. Not the worst thing you'll see but it's not necessary viewing.

A boring movie about the boredom of sex after marriage. There were a few good bits, but overall it was a pretty mediocre movie. The casting in the movie was good. I wish there would have been more time with the friends. I like Rob Corddry and the woman who plays his wife. Jack Black's appearance was a treat. But, even he couldn't help make this middling movie any better.

I am a big fan of Segel's ,so this was incredibly disappointing. The entire premise is insanely insulting, and its really a lazy mans device to let shenanigans ensue. Diaz has the ass of a 12 year old boy, so bonus points if that's your thing.

Married couple Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) try to spice up their formerly formidable sex life by making a sex video. Two kids and a couple of terabytes worth of adult responsibility have made sex nearly impossible. It's been so long, they've nearly forgotten how to do it. They can't even kiss without banging their teeth. It's a somewhat adorable scene that's at times hilarious, though at other times falls flat.

Just a terrible attempt at raunchy comedy. Segel and Diaz don't have much chemistry, and it just throws curse words at us and expects us to laugh. It also fails as being romantic and seems content to do everything it canto be cliche as possible.

Is it still called a sex tape if it was filmed on an iPad? This comedy seemed to have a lot of potential but it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. I will say that Cameron Diaz hasn't looked this good in a movie since "There's Something About Mary" and Jason Segel has some funny parts but this isn't his best movie by far...

A heart-warming family tale about a dirty porno, which works about as well as you would think. It's unfortunate that this is so resolutely unfunny (and oddly detailed in its product placement), because the actors involved are quite likable. I'm going to blame the writing: who the fuck just gives away iPads anyway?

It wasn't difficult but this was a lot more enjoyable then 'Bad Teacher'. The best moments are when they are producing the Sex Tape which is generally really funny but after that the rest of the film fails to live up to a bright start. I had a massive problem with the obvious advertising of Apple products which goes into product specifications and durability on a couple of occasions. The trailer does give away a lot of the funnier scenes so well worth avoiding if you can. Worth a watch.

Sex Tape is another example of a trailer that is better than the film. It's never quite as raunchy as it thinks it is and there just isn't enough laughs to label this a comedy. This is quite simply product placement advertisement for Apple. iPad's get more screen time than the stars. It's only saving grace is the likabity of Jason Segel & Cameron Diaz. But they're both better than this. Not even Cameron Diaz' see through tops, side boob shots and bouncing buttocks justify watching this film.

It totally feels like a REALLY long Apple ad. Pity--it seems that Cameron Diaz's career peaked with Bad Teacher. Kudos, however, to Rob Lowe and his sense of humor (and comic timing), for agreeing to do this movie when he made one of the most infamous sex tapes of all time!

Sex Tape reeks of mediocrity. Segel does slapstick well, but doesn't have enough onscreen chemistry with Diaz to pull off a film like this. I loathed the Apple propaganda, which is bafflingly central to the plot. The film is neither raunchy enough nor funny enough to be worthwhile. The sole redeeming moments come from Corddry and Kemper who have the chemistry and humour necessary to make their scenes enjoyable.

See, there's a reason why the words sex and intimacy are so closely connected: Sex is supposed to be intimate. Private. Between a man and his wife. And while Jay and Annie may not want their personal sexual exploits shared with the world--a point they make quite clear--Sony Pictures certainly wants to visually (and explicitly) share their comedic sex caper with as many paying customers as possible. More of a relationship movie than a comedy and a rote, boring relationship movie. The humor is almost all generated by thinking of ways to offend a very old prude without any thought or effort put into the jokes. The dog-chase scene is way too long given the premise and the short movie basically features a 20-minute wrap-up.

Jason Segel is genuinely a very funny man, and he carries this film completely on his own. Sex Tape does silly raunchy schlock humor a lot better than pretty much every other comedy I've seen the past few years, even if some parts really don't work (Howard) and the plot structure is feeble at best. Rob Lowe is great and should be in far more comedies. Cameron Diaz is not particularly funny.

This movie has a couple of funny moments but not near enough to make it a good film. The script could have used a few rewrites. All the actors have done better work elsewhere before.

When your supporting cast gets more laughs than your main one, you know your comedy is in trouble. The two Robs (Lowe and Corddry) get the most chuckles, as few and far between as they were. Few extra points for 42 year old Diaz's still bangin' bod. Ultimately forgettable.

There's the odd chuckle in the shagging montages that bookend this one, but that's your lot. Never before have I witnessed such criminally lazy writing: the script is so shockingly awful you're convinced it must've all been improvised, or at the very least scribbled in a panic 30 minutes before each scene was shot. Much of it just goes to promote Apple products in the most excruciatingly unsubtle fashion. Sex Tape is an insult to moviegoers everywhere, and a further nail in the coffin of cinema.

Just a terrible movie in every way. There was no stand out jokes, Jason Segel was so overtly over the top he was just ridiculous and the premise was probably the worst comedy plot of all time. We get it rich people have Ipads, sex is harder after kids and love is about late night breaking and entering. Thanks for the life lessons Sex Tape. An awful exuses for a movie, especially given the star power involved.

There are a few laughs in there, but they're parcelled out stingily, amidst a disappointingly charisma-and-chemistry-free cast and a shoddy first act far too heavy on exposition and cringe. I didn't hate it, or anything, but it's disappointingly weak.
