Talk about a movie that tanks itself. About half of it is a great, mysterious thriller with a cool, driving soundtrack that really set a fresh atmosphere. But then after the twist about what's in the box is revealed (it's a dumb twist) the movie just falls apart. Nothing works anymore: the people act stupid, there's no real drama, the action tries to be over the top and exciting but fails and becomes stupid. Did I mention the twist sucks? So maybe... watch like half of the movie.

It has moments of high tension which are immediately offset by moments of extreme ridiculousness. Also, I'm all in favor of the strong woman social commentary, but it could have been made more sutil. Like one hundred trillion times more sutil.

I usually really enjoy movies with Chloe Grace Moretz but this one has too many element that annoyed me. Incredibly stupid plot contrivances. Ridiculous monster. Bad physics. Horrible annoying audio, truly awful music, asinine voice over and pathetic dialog. The action is pitiful and claustrophobic. It goes bad early and doesn't get much better. Low budget fiasco that entirely fails to satisfy except for a few small bits and pieces.

Surprisingly entertaining in the first 2/3 especially inside cramped quarters reminiscent of a Zoom call. CMG sells her competence and the only real knock against her is her teenage looks which she can't control. The over-the-top final 1/3, the package, and the Twilight Zone gremlin bring this down. Fav scene: even though the initial male dialogue can be a bit grating (but not implausible), when she calls them out on it and makes justified demands, their tossing her aside is totally believable.

An action film directed by a woman and with a woman lead, and out come the misogynists in full force with their troll ratings. Sure, it's bonkers and completely unrealistic but it's also the most pure fun I've had in a film in a while. It's thrilling and well-made, with superb CGI and a pumping soundtrack.

Don't dismiss this as a B-movie genre flick. The first two acts in the turret are a taut thriller - excellently written and performed - and they're followed by a gripping action-packed finale. The creature-feature isn't there just for kicks, either; it may not be profound, but when Moretz hands the package to the supporting male and single-handedly solves not only the explicit problems facing the crew but the "inexplicable accidents" too, well heck - call me inspired.

The first quarter is almost entirely a close up of Moretz which is ok bc so many mysteries need to be answered. It's also designed to establish every male - except the best-looking one of course - as an ahole. Fortunately, once the mysteries are explained, the film opens way the hell up into some very implausible but exciting & unexpected action & it keeps on that course till the end. It also becomes ever more stridently feminist (& dishonest) establishing males as mostly useless in combat.

Pretty much dumb from the start and kept the momentum going all the way through.

You know, for a movie shot entirely in lockdown, with CGM very clearly phoning in her parts via webcam, it's - whaddyamean this was shot in 2019?!? Stick through the first 45 minutes and it does somehow occasionally get ridiculous enough to be an entertaining good ol' monster movie (or as good ol' as a movie set entirely within cheap CGI can be), but DAMN, it makes a lot of strange and needlessly complicated choices getting there.

Quirky B-movie psychodrama with some innovative theatrical presentation. Committed turn from Moretz as always, sporting an impeccable RAF pilot accent. Dialogue is little overwrought at times but film swiftly segues into a bonkers creature-feature subplot with excellent production/SFX in the conclusion. Film does not deserve such low ratings - as always largely projecting male angst and a sad lack of sensitivity on social issues. If you are even faintly progressive there's plenty to enjoy here.

If you watch "Shadow in the Cloud" with low expectations, it campy enough you might enjoy it.

Gereksiz derecede absürt ve saçma sahneleri, filmi geçen her dakika aşağı çekti. Soundtrack dışında başka bir meselesi yok.

Starts out great. I was thinking it was a solid creature feature movie and I can always appreciate a movie that finds suspense in an environment that's very limited and confined. Halfway through it throws a curveball at you and there's no explanation as to just what the first part was for and it becomes an entirely different movie. It's just stupid and silly, and not always in a good way. Solid soundtrack with those 80's synth sounds, though.

With a WWII setting, an old fashioned gremlin, and a lead actress seemingly targeted toward teenage girls (not to downplay her versatility), I feel compelled to expect that "Shadow in the Cloud" justify its existence, or maybe Landis justify it, someone, anyone, please explain to me why this thing was made.

This movie surprised me in a great way. Honestly, I had no idea what I was getting into. I just knew Chloe Moretz, and something to do with an old plane. Basically just the opening image. I highly recommend going into this blind if you can. There are a lot of surprises. Of course if you take things too seriously you might hate it, but if you can have fun with it, it's a crazy ride!

From the plane graphics, the nasty little gremlin tongue, the extended broken finger, the trapped woman in a mans world, on to the more explicit misogynistic language and final breast feeding, this movie wreaks of allegory to the point of nausea. On top of that, the whole premise of the movie was ridiculous. I am sure this hideous mess was no better when the script was written by Max Landis but I am equally sure that Roseanne Liang didnt make any improvements to it when she re-wrote it.

The various plot devices don't work well together at all, but ChloMo is a bad-ass, as usual.
