Shadows of a Hot Summer

A slow burn dramatic thriller that builds tension in various subtle and unexpected ways within a vaguely western like setting. It has been compared to Straw Dogs, but it is less concerned with questions of masculinity and violence than it is with the problem of resistance during times of invasion/occupation. No doubt this has some allegorical significance for Czech's position in WW2, but it is neither obvious or forced. A tighter edit would have produced a more impactful result.
