One of those films where I can’t tell if Weller is adlibbing his hip attitude or if it’s written as is. I also really miss movies having grossly inappropriate end credit love pop ballads.

Wants to be a buddy cop action movie and a courtroom drama at the same time and miraculously sort of pulls it off. I recommend watching because the action scenes are over the top. If you're interested, watch it, if not, please read on. The final action sequence involves our buddies chasing down a plane in a convertible. Sam jumps on as the plane takes off, gets up into the air AND THEN starts shooting the plane down. While it staggers towards the Statue of Liberty he tosses in a grenade! Madness

A few great action sequences and good performances by Elliot and Weller push this above a 50. Excellent night shots of NYC and 42nd street in particular bump this up a bit more. Not a great movie by any means, but perfect for a day off work.

Solid performances, a good cast, and some great action sequences redeem to some extent an otherwise overly plotted and unevenly paced wannabe action story of corruption, intrigue, and criminal life in the big city. This was a mostly unknown follow up to Weller's Robocop of 1987.

Enjoyable for the cast and the plot is flawed yet acceptable. The ending was absurd both for the out-of-left-field ridiculous Sam Elliot randomly blowing things up part and for the hamfisted close to Weller's personal drama subplot.

Pretty straightforward cop-court drama-action, with the INSANE action scenes. Sam Elliot is a great lead.

Left me incredulous, but I'm someone who appreciates the capacity of cinema to be like cartoons.
