The 'Let's Call The Whole Thing Off' and 'They Can't Take That Away From Me' scenes are absolute bangers (as the kids like to say). The hilarious banter between Edward Everett Horton and Eric Blore epitomises the playful use of language that seems to define the most entertaining films of the 1930s; "I am at the Susquehanna Street Jail."

Astaire and Rogers aren't the greatest vocalists and their half-hearted stabs at Gershwin are disappointing. But when they dance together, it's pure magic. They make it look so effortless, as if they were making it up as they go along. As for the plot, well... it's a satisfying comedy of errors, but not really big on laughs. I could have done without the uptight hotel manager entirely. However, even it doesn't deliver laughs, it delivers smiles. Groundbreaking, no, but it's a solid picture.

This is my new favorite Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers film. The music numbers are fun. This film is more entertaining than "Top Hat", with almost all the same cast. It just really works in this film. And Ginger Rogers always looks amazing.

Pure slick elegance... per usual. So perfect it makes you vomit. Another lovely romance comedy from the pair of Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers dancing and singing their way into each others hearts. For comic support Edward Everett Horton delivers his gig with a funny moment as a seasick drunk. Even better was Eric Blore. Never knew spelling could be so fun when a lisping Blore tried to explain which jail he was in. Not to mention when trying to hush people off. The rollerskating scene was superb.

Some wonderful dancing here, but that's no surprise. The best, of course, is the rollerskating bit.

Some great dance routines but a bit of a dull story and not the wittiest script.

There are not many dance numbers in here, but when they dance - it's awesome

Some iconic songs and dances but did not catch me in the way other Fred and Gingers did.

Astaire and Rogers are always magical together, but this film is an even bigger gem for two reasons. George and Ira Gershwin wrote the songs, which include "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off" and "They Can't Take That Away from Me". Horton and Eric Blore have a series of brilliant comic scenes, most of them together.

More enjoyable than it thought, I even laugh a few times. The dancing is exquisite and the singing is ok, nothing impressive. Of course the plot is extremely mediocre, but that is expected from this type of movies; if only the script was as good as the choreography…
