Shares most of the same problems as its predecessor (overlength and languid pacing), and almost forgets about Chan's strengths as a stunt performer, but as a piece of trivial fluff, it's fairly painless, with Wilson largely stealing the show as McConaughey-lite. Obvious, laboured gags around character names peppered through the screenplay are hit-and-miss at best.

More spirited than the original, with lots of goofy in-jokes and historical references. Chan's most spry American action picture- he even gets to go at it with Donnie Yen.

This movie is really stupid. They stunts are good for the most part but the music really takes the enjoyment out of them. Almost all of the jokes fall flat and the score doesn't work at all. I'm not a fan of Owen Wilson so most of my score is for Jackie Chan and the underused but much appreciated Donnie Yen.

Middling period action comedy along the usual lines of teaming Jackie Chan up with an American comedian, whisked from set piece to set piece with a formulaic good-vs-evil plot and various stereotypical side characters. Wilson and Chan have some alright banter and Victorian London (or studio 59) looks very fine. Donnie Yen's skills are largely wasted and Chan's are on the wane. The film is at least well-paced, but a lot of it seems phoned-in. Entertaining enough for TV but won't be remembered.

An unnecessary sequel that Wilson and Chan do their best to make passable. The story is pretty stupid, but is flanked by enough good action scenes and funny bits by Wilson to make you not realize it until you reflect on it later. It's not good, but it's light enough where you could enjoy it on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

At its best it does achieve some moments of playful globetrotting action-adventure fun, with some amusing Jackie stunt bits as per usual, such as the Singin In the Rain bit. I think I might like it just a bit better than the original? The comedy is mostly groaners, though, and the villain’s plot (machine gun the royal family??) is kind of stupid.

Pairing Owen Wilson with Jackie Chan seems to create a team that is more annoying than the sum the two. Chan comes off as more of a goofy chinese stereotype than a rounded character, and Wilson is even more of a bother than usual.
