Well, not awful. Has a good atmosphere, but for some reason, I was never, ever surprised. Every reveal I figured out a few minutes before the twist. Decent acting and good direction but the script isn’t perfect.

Con artist capering is gimmicky but still a cut above most made-for streaming fare.

Entertaining movie about a great truth: Money cannot be forced - it has to be attracted!

A stylized, chaotic scam thriller that puts the pieces together between characters and events like a puzzle. If you set the expectations right, it's the kind of film you'll enjoy immensely. I had a pretty good time watching Sharper.

This is a movie that works well as a collaborative watch, like an escape room. In this way the movie is an interactive experience and i found myself going along with it fully.. Anyway, had a jolly good time.

Entertaining enough. Reminded me of the show Kaleidoscope.

Moore is always great, and the big con itself is reasonable enough, even if it basically goes the way so many other con movies go. The thing that kind of separates it from other movies of the ilk is the A24 seriousness that almost all their movies are dressed in. So this ends up not being flashy, even as it depicts wealth, which probably hurts it because it makes it less fun. Trades that in to basically deal with the emotional impact of something like this.

What if Succession was turned into a pretty lame caper film.

It'd been awhile since I'd seen a cleverly constructed con man drama. I definitely was a step ahead of most of the twists, after I figured out Sharper's premise and aspirations. That didn't stop me from having an enjoyable two hours.

I'm experiencing some cognitive dissonance with this one. Good acting, great soundtrack and glossy high production directing, yet it felt lacking on the whole. It's like they watched better movies like Confidence and made a lesser version. Everything is predictable, but it's still significantly better than most direct to streaming movies. I liked the setups, but it felt like a double cross 101 class. Therefore, it gets a 6.4. The score I give out the most for vanilla, but almost there quality.
