Loved all the filler shots of the carnivals. A fun remake of Freaks

It's obviously shot on a minuscule budget, so at least 2/3 of it is shot without sound, even scenes that crucially advance the plot (almost all of the courtship Brennen/McKinney courtship is effectively pantomimed). It has two things going for it. First, it has a surprisingly effective and straightforward if brief plot. Second, it's largely shot on the grounds of a real carnival and spends the majority of the running time prowling it's grounds.

All of the lovely carnival footage alone makes this a wonderful time capsule. Everything else is good entertainment as far as I'm concerned.
