Shinobi: Heart Under Blade

I see a lot of positive feedback... lulwut?

Some decent ninja action undone by overcooked melodrama and silly characters. Par for the course with live action anime, I guess.

Briskly paced fights, Japanese lore, and a love story that isn't too overwrought all make for a fairy tale that's worth a listen.

Well made. I really enjoyed the visuals/effects with good ninja action scenes. The overly melodramatic romance scenes fuck it all up for me.

What is it with the Japanese and coherent narratives?

There are some good effects. Most of the fight scenes were too short, and ultimately unsatisfying. Melodramatic.

A little cheesy but wholly enjoyable Ninja/fantasy/melodramatic love story movie. It has lots of fun ideas.

Though ultimately a decent film, the fantasy elements can be pretty silly at times.

Based on one of my favourite Anime series Basilisk. Ofcourse this movie was no where near as good, but I wasnt expecting that. Amazingly it didnt completely suck like it would usually do.

i only find the ending part watchable, other than that, the fighting sequences were GAHHHHHH =( only the pretty lead actress managed to stop me from turning off the tv.

A less bloody Basilisk, but definitely worth a look. Basically, its Romeo and Juliet, X-men, and ninjas all in one.

Excellent fantasy about the lives of ninja warriors.Some stunning effects.

A Japanese version of a superhero movie. If you enjoy this, definitely check out 'Basilisk' the anime.

it expected me to feel when it presented nothing to feel for. the action was okay. nothing much happened for the whole film, and the romance was assumed rather than actually expressed. oh and it's damn near plotless. eh.
