Starts out as an enjoyable con artist caper before turning into a ridiculous cartoonish mess during the final act. Also not really funny enough.

Memorable though silly caper movie with plenty of charm, inventiveness, and great chemistry between its three young leads. They do the Jules et Jim thing a little better than Jules et Jim did it. There's a little too much schmaltziness which could have been left on the cutting room floor, but all in all the story is entertaining and there are plenty of visually striking scenes which have stuck in my memory for a long time. A lot of the ideas in this film come from a refreshingly original place.

Has an inoffensive charm to it, is mildly amusing, yet hardly memorable. The cons are kinda clever, but I could have done without the wacky part-time inventor contraptions. Aside: I'm ashamed that I couldn't stop focusing on how yellow Beckinsale's teeth used to be...

The darling gal alone in weird fantasy moments is enough, but typical & isn't it cute romance will suffice to entertain. As the conclusion nears, the believability approaches zero.
