I have tremendous respect for these people, and I enjoyed interviews with showrunners like Joss Whedon. It's not really an amazing documentary, though. It tells you the basics but it doesn't offer a whole lot of depth or insight. I can't imagine people who aren't already interested in TV actually being interested in this. So, yeah, I wouldn't really recommend this to people in general, but it's not bad if you're interested in television production.

Did I really need to watch this? Showrunners think that their job is "a lot of work." Pretty much every profession on the planet says this about themselves.

A very surface level documentary. You can learn a lot more about showrunning from watching behind the scenes features on the Shield

Very good documentary about the struggles and upsides of the life of a showrunner. Way to nurture my totally legit dream of being one someday as well! Unfortunately they didn't include Shonda Rhimes and only two female showrunners. Would've loved to hear more from this minority in the TV business.
