Well, I did learn some important lessons. 1. Never let your friends rape a jap cause she was "annoying" cause apparently she will haunt you forever. 2. Never watch a movie with Joshua Jackson in it again unless it involves him getting punched in the balls repeatedly. 3. kill alex for making me watch this

From the minute the car swerved off the road, avoiding the Japanese woman, I could see every cliche making its way to the screen. Was I ever gripping my seat? No, not after a ghost was messing with photography equipment. There comes a point when the supernatural meets the ridiculous, that's what Shutter turned out to be. Every single pattern involved in The Ring and The Grudge has been compiled to create this film. Simply uncreative.

Here it is, folks! Quite possibly THE WORST thing ever filmed, and this coming from a man who has seen lots of porn. The moral? Gang-raping your Japanese girlfriend because she is too clingy (and filming it) is bad because she might kill herself and come back and haunt you and your pretty new Caucasian bride. This is not one-percent exaggerated; that IS the plot of this movie. Be smart, kids - don't rape your Japanese girlfriend and film it. And whatever you do, do NOT see 'Shutter', either.

A newlywed couple is being haunted by a ghost that can only be seen by a camera and thankfully we've got the guy from Dawson's Creek on the case! This is one of the most derivative, unexciting movies I've ever seen in my life. It's so forgettable that I've already forgotten almost everything I've seen and the movie just ended 4 hours ago. This isn't one of those so-bad-it's-funny types, it's just downright bad. But as long as these keep getting made, I'll keep seeing them.

As a horror movie, it did not scare. As a thriller movie, it did not trill. As a mystery movie, there was nothing mysterious about it. I kinda 'sensed' what was happening well before it happened. This is another westernised ripoff, where the original was better in everyway. Its a shame because I think Joshua Jackson is better than this; else he should stick to 'Fringe'.

The actual crash was overblown and silly, the leads didn't work together, the early introductions had awful dialogue and a completely unnatural feel. Checked my phone for the PSI at that point; goodnight.

No scares, no excitement, no tension. We do, however, get a speech about how Polaroids can't be faked. Wait, what?

An absolutely terrible horror film. Completely forgettable. Considering that I saw this less than 3 years ago, I can't remember the resolution at all, and only remember a few scenes that actually might have been in other movies. If I forget everything about a film that soon after watching it, it's probably not much of a film.

How could the director of the excellent Parasite Eve do this? It's not inventive at all, relies way too heavily on the same scare, and all I learned was that SPOILER SPOILER gang rape is bad END SPOILER END SPOILER. Nice.

A photographer and his skeleton skinny wife find out not-so-surprising haunted past of a girl. Lots of familiar scenes and set ups from the other horror movies. Not a scary movie at all and it has nothing new to offer for the genre. Skip if you can. I haven't seen the original.

Ah, Japan. How I love your finely crafted cameras, the perfect balance of innovative and traditional in your post-modern architecture, your foreign-devil driven gang rape--er, what?

Poor horror movie, with most of the 'horror' mysteriously absent, and the shocks coming with a 2 minute notice period. Plodding.

Movie looks like longish X-files episode, in which Scully and Mulder got brainwashed and they are finding out the story behing weird pictures. Not interesting, not investing, not much to watch. But I like the ending sequence. Now I gotta watch the Japanese version.

I can't take it anymore. One more shitty (The Grudge and Dark Water don't count as the originals weren't any good to begin with) remake of a great J-horror and I will commit mass genocide.

This was a movie that I thought had some potential. I would have liked the way the story line weaved into the TWIST of the ending, except that it was so predictable, you could see it coming a mile away. I know Joshua Jackson could have pulled out a better performance than what he did. But the problem with the potential of a movie, is that if certain things are done wrong, it will really go wrong. There were some tense scenes and there were some scenes of creepiness, but it wasn't capitalized
