A psychotherapist stars writing a book. She draws inspiration from the lives of her few remaining patients. She also has few skeletons in the closet which come out after she starts to drink. The story and the fortunes of the two leading ladies : Virginie Efira and Adèle Exarchopoulos kind of mirror one another but story is really thin and unfortunately boring. The good: movie has a few good performances namely Sandra Hüller and Adèle Exarchopoulos. This had potential but squandered it.

I don't particularly love the easygoing last 20 minutes or so -- or Sibyl's flashbacks with her old, traumatic love --, but this is evidently so well-shot and impressively multi-layered -- therapist starts writing book about an actress patient, ends up writing about herself and collaborating in the troubled movie production where everyone is sleeping with everyone -- it's hard not to fall for it. So many incredibly magnetic shots here: the slap, the boat, the party, the mirrored acting/writing.

Featuring 2 of the most fatal femmes fatales of current French cinema, the story rolls from the unlikely into the absurd, but instead of inducing eye-rolls it's actually quite a surprising spectacle. The tone and coloring is right, the editing is tight and keeps things in motion, the acting very good (as usual in French productions) and that includes a hilarious turn by Sandra Hüller!

The base idea is nice, I wanted to know the end but disapointed
