Long COVID: Brain fog poor concentration.feeling confused.thinking more slowly than usual.fuzzy thoughts.forgetfulness.lost words.mental fatigue. Oh that's why the reviews for this are too generous. Has the clever energy of a Facebook Minion meme.

While "Sick" succeeds in delivering a satisfying slasher experience, the clunky conclusion and shallow attempt at social commentary hold it back from being a truly great film. Fans of the genre may still have a scary good time, but it may not satisfy those looking for a more thoughtful exploration of the pandemic's impact.

It's kind of stupid at times but all in all an entertaining slasher that's shot pretty well, acted well, etc. Not real scary and with a few laughs. I mostly want to focus on the twist. I'm okay with the commentary/twist here because it does exaggerate something that DID happen, and the killers are clearly out of their minds or distraught in order to go that far (as villains often are). So I'm fine with the twist, but I don't want to see it ever again because it'll stop working really quickly.

Don’t think it connects in a way Williamson wants it to but it’s still a fun thriller.

If I hadn't written down that I watched it, I would have forgotten it within 12 hours. The next day I thought; Sick, huh? Did I watch that?

Sick eventually connects the dots between its slasher killer and COVID-19, but it’s more effective before making that connection. The payoff works, but the build up to it works even better, presenting Parker and Miri with a vague, invisible threat that evolves into a relentless attacker determined to take advantage of any slip-up and break through even the most careful defenses. But, hey, at least they wear a mask.

Rather than being a fascinating time-capsule horror, Sick ends up being a hackneyed run-of-the-mill slasher with a heavy-handed COVID implication thrown in. Scream writer Kevin Williamson has certainly written with more clarity, wit and prescience in previous work.

A run of the mill slasher with the rare benefit of not being over-extended.

Clean, elegantly put together -- man, those long shots are just cool as hell, conveying such a sense of unease of the pandemic times -- home invasion slasher with no time to spare -- it's clocked exactly at 78min -- and a bunch of good scares. Hyams is still so underrated.

Fairly brutal but incredibly stupid. Out of many examples, my favorite (minor spoiler), is the 3-story fall resulting in (only) an open-fractured shin, which is then splintered leaving a minor limp. It's really a toss-up though, as the stupidity is omnipresent.

I enjoyed this quite a bit more than I expected to. Williamson can still write a solid slasher w some tongue in cheek elements to it. Minimalist and more than serviceable. 6.5

Sick is an extremely entertaining example of post-covid horror. Although not scary or spooky, it is exciting and very enjoyable. I had a great time with this fun slasher story.

What do you expect of a Kevin Williamson script almost 30 years after Scream? ...No, honestly, I'm asking. The man has been responsible for both genius and stupidity, and this ends up somewhere in between, to the point where I'm not sure this even has a script. What it does have is a tight, classic slasher plot that zips along and gets the job done in 80 minutes. Dumb? At times, but 2020 was a dumb time. Engages in the moment, but I doubt it'll mean much in the long run.

The kills were pretty gouda and the cold open was fantastic. It just lost me plot-wise. Lincoln Log house was sweet!

Could have done without the monologue near the end. I appreciate it for not overstepping its runtime.
