Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is terrible on every conceivable level other than the ability to rope in a bunch of good actors. The original film somehow managed to capture part of the feeling of playing those early games without the characters or interesting lore. This removes the atmosphere, keeps the bad characters, and inserts the worst aspects of the lore from the games. So, it's just a sampling of the worst aspects of a series of games I really enjoy translated to film.

A bad plot combined with effects and atmosphere vastly inferior to the first movie make this sequel a good deal worse then the first Silent Hill. The only thing this improved over the first movie is the fact that its shorter and has a faster pace, but the complete lack of any impressive visuals or settings means this film doesn't even have the one good thing the original movie had. Overall, its not the worst horror film I've seen by far, but it feels like a complete waste of time.

I completely agree with the mass majority of people that this is just disrespectful. I haven't played the games yet (searching out Silent Hill 2 as I write this), but I know that this is not the idea that the creators or fans, or probably even the actors (shoutout to Sean Bean) wanted put into a movie. Quite horrible in terms of story, acting, and direction, one of the worst horror movies I've had the displeasure of laying eyes on.
