So I didn’t realize when I originally watched this it was a remake of Silent Night Deadly Night.....Now I have problems as it is with remakes But the fact I didn’t realize it was was a remake of my favorite holiday scares makes it worse Kills were okay I guess But it lacks any humor or cheese or offbeat characters that made the original one of my favorites

A tonally inconsistent & overly convoluted mess that's only partially saved by some genuinely fun deaths & a few well-done homages to the original, plus decent performances from King, Logue & McDowell- even if the latter is very clearly there for a paycheck. The plot is cluttered & poorly written, the dialogue is messy, there are several flat-out bad actors in smaller roles, & some too-on-the-nose homages that didn't land like others did. The ending is what really kills it. Overall, very meh.

Absurd and sloppy and junky and badly directed and just not any damn good. Sorry. The cast's capable, and I was really hoping this would turn out to be delicious, awesome cheese in the vein of the recent MY BLOODY VALENTINE, and I came into it all psyched up and ready to give it the benefit of the doubt....but no. Sucky. Bummer.
