Was nominated for a couple of the lesser Oscar categories, but it's not exactly a class film. Something is off with the entire thing. Little chemistry, stumbling storytelling and not exactly breathtaking film making overall. On their own the stars do okay, with a elegant George Brent and stunning Priscilla Lane coming out alright, and the easy-going flow of gambling at least gave a good vibe. But one wonders if they actually read through the script to check if the story had been finished.
