The Kid and his pals are horse thieves wanted by the law. As he takes a horse from Jan Walton she makes him promise to bring it back. This makes him go straight and when his pals steal Jan's horses he returns them. But Benson, the leader of the horse thieves, along with his gang is after them too and the Kid is greatly outnumbered. A horse thief makes a friend.... a girl friend. Silver Stallion (1941) is a western trying to make a star out of actor/stuntman David Sharpe, but he gets stiff competition from the animals. Besides the usual low budget cowboy formula, they try to give this film a more adventurous feel focusing on the wild horses and Boots the Wonder Dog. At least Monogram tried to do something with the standard B-western, but it's still very ordinary.
