the parts with richard pryor were good, not great. the hour leading up to his appearance was thinly speckled with spots of humor, but mostly long boring stretches. i was expecting more wit. it dwindles down into subpar thriller by the last 20 minutes of its overlong runtime.

Patrick McGoohan is actually in a film and Gene Wilder kills someone with a spear gun. GENE WILDER KILLS SOMEONE WITH A SPEAR GUN!!! Craziest thing I've ever seen in a movie.

A weird and wonderful film with Gene Wilder shooting Jaws from the Bond films with a spear gun! The highlight is the train crash at the end, but has good humour mixed with more serious action scenes throughout.

I don't know why, but I just love this movie. Gene Wilder is top notch in this story about mistaken identity. The obligatory appearance of Richard Pryor just adds to the mix.

The only reason to watch this film is to see the train shots.

Nice comedy, not great but solid enough. A predictable plot and slow pace but Wilder delivers throughout the film as does some of the supporting cast.

Wilder and Pryor run away with this runaway train movie. Hiller doesn't seem to know what to do with a comedy, and just contents himself with pointing the camera at the stars. It's enough, just barely.

A classic from when I was a kid. By "classic" I mean a movie they played so much on TV you couldn't help but finally watch it 35-40 times. Fun film though, even though probably 30 minutes can be cut easily (is there a union rule that 70's movies HAVE to feature a biplane?).

A rather fun and entertaining comedy/thriller. Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor play off of one another's characters incredibly well, and the bathroom scene is utterly hilarious. Sports a pretty good cast for a train movie set in the 70s. Look out for a young Fred Willard in a small role near the end of the flick.

Somewhat entertaining Hitchcock fanboyism.

Not really a spoof not really a remake. Just funny enough (largely due to Wilder and Pryor) to keep it from being a snooze fest.

Has its moments (blackface, train crash) and it's always a pleasure to watch Gene Wilder but 'Silver Streak' is ultimately overly long, boring and forgettable. Cool to see Scatman though, the voice of Jazz in G1 Transformers.

My dad raised me on a steady diet of Wilder/Pryor movies. It was a good childhood. This is one of the weaker ones, but still good for some laughs.

A good old fashioned screwball comedy/thriller. Wilder and Clayburgh are cute together, and Wilder and Pryor work so well together that it's hard to stop laughing and see how really good they are.

I liked that movie better when it was called North by Northwest and it wasn't sleazy, boring, and racist. "Oh, please don't call the sheriff! We still have 80 minutes to fill!"

Okay thriller, Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder are funny together. The movie does have its moments, but it felt maybe a bit too long and ultimately, it's kind of forgettable.

A really entertaining film from the 70s that epitomizes a lost genre -- the comedic thriller. Colin Higgins took the Hitchcock formula of a man on the run for a crime he didn't commit, threw in a train, two incredibly talented comedy performers (Wilder & Pryor), and conjured up some movie magic. A wonderful Henry Mancini score propels this entire trek into a thrilling climax. The climax by the way was accomplished with full-sized special effects (no miniatures or CGI here). All aboard!

With more action than comedy, everyone would have fared better if the opposite were true. The first act is the best stuff with Wilder getting to hop around a ridiculously good cast. Then there is a mystery and lots of shooting. That stuff is fine.
