Sirene

Bizarre and mesmerizing animation, full of darkness and foreboding, though I think the meaning escaped me.

I don't know if this was intentional or not, but I actually chuckled a couple times at this; probably at the ridiculousness--not in a bad way--of the characters and how they act. There's a message her, though it's not always clear what it is. Even still, it's got pretty inspired imagery so even if you don't get it, it's entertaining for sure, if not a little insubstantial.

Something about the environment, industrialization, love and the self-interested, often destructive nature of institutions. I think. It certainly looked cool.

Nice mix of bits that seem purely whimsical, and bits that seem to suggest a social or political commentary. The combination had me running back over various scenes in my head. Of course, the visuals themselves are quite striking.
