Nonsexual nudity is quite uncommon in Western movies,, and this movie has a fair bit of it, which is contrasted with themes of morality and sexual liberation. Quite an interesting juxtaposition. Fair enough to watch, but nothing to interesting if you're well liberated. To the unenlightened it maybe extremely sexual, and if you find it so know that the perverse sexual impression you're getting is entirely from your own mind.

I kinda just wanted to check out what was basically my pornography when I was 10, last seen on a tiny portable black & white TV with utterly horrendous reception. I've become too jaded to say it's held up (though I don't think I even appreciated back then how amazing Macpherson's boobs were), but it does have its modest charms, including Portia's adorable performance. And at least Elle's only a bad actor; Kate Fischer commits the cardinal sin of also seeming uncomfortable with what she's doing.

Confuses sensuality with titillation. I have no problem with nudity in films, but here I thought it genuinely got in the way of what the film was trying to say. It occasionally makes a vague point about morality, religion or censorship, but too often gives way for a flimsy excuse to show the female members of the cast with their kit off.

There is a great deal of good-cause body-baring, and supermodel -- to use the official epithet -- MacPherson shows off a bit more of herself than she has shown in any Sports Illustrated "Swimsuit Issue." But liberation, of which she's the most belligerent voice, would be so much more attractive a state, not to mention believable a state, unaccompanied by so much bragging and bullying.

It's an okay plot...but there's a lot of nakedness. I know, that's a cheap thrill. You can say it's very tastefully done if you'd like.

All of the nudity in this movie is necessary. In fact, it could have been a better movie with more nudity.

The epic internal struggle of a man's sense of morality, virtuousness and propriety against a naked Elle Macpherson. Gee, tough choice.

Overlooked gem about an early 20th century Anglican clergyman sent to Australia to censor a lacivious painter, and the sexual awakening of his wife that ensues. One of the most sensual and yet thoughtful films of the period.
