A strange 'kids film' about a boy and his dog set against the backdrop of WW2. In short: a tame after school special with Nazi's. At least it has some historical value, unlike its American 'equivalents', and Vlacil finds a rather subtle way to shift the tone and mood when the Germans finally make their presence felt, but this short tele movie required a bigger canvas to really explore its ideas.
