Mixes Nuns on the Run and The Sound of Music and unsurprisingly falls inbetween. The singing is inspired and there's a feel good reward to investing even minor interest. Knowing TheDenizen's normal intake of film helped elicit a hard laugh at his review.

Way better than I expected having only seen it once, years ago. Of course, the best scenes are with Goldberg in the convent and especially going head to head with Smith's Mother Superior. Third act with the gangsters and a lot of running around, kinda just drops the ball. Although I'll admit to tearing up laughing when Sister Mary Clarence elbows two men right in the nards. I'm classy and sophisticated like that.

This is a fish out of water movie or a fish dropped in soda movie or fish who learned to sing movie or something, I guess. Whoopi Goldberg sings and generally sucks and that's all you need to know.

Whoopi Goldberg is good in the lead role. The script is predictable but it still has some enjoyable moments. The supporting cast are good in this movie as well. Overall I would recommend this comedy.

Deep and meaningful it isn't but what great fun! Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith own this film with some very good supporting cast. A great soundtrack and with a background of San Francisco and the West Coast of USA. Light without being too lightweight. Funny and touching at times.
