Perhaps it was the New Year's Eve spirit infecting me, but I found this to be a hilarious two hours. Bobby Moynihan, one of my favourite SNL cast members, nearly steals the entire film. The chemistry between Fey/Poehler is fantastic (are you surprised?), and I want Rudolph in more films. There were three older people in front of me that watched the entire film in silence. I don't think that we would agree on the score I gave to this film.

This is about 95% propelled by the undeniable, unarguable, and unstoppable chemistry and play-off-of-each-other abilities of Tina and Amy. Bobby Moynihan is a comic force, kind of in the vein of a Sean Cullen but WAY more bearable for long periods of time. He's gold in this. And let's talk about JOHHHHHHHN CENA! He's had a great year when you think about it, Trainwreck and now this. The premise, personalities and situations don't have to be realistic to be fun, and this one is definitely fun.

Starts out extremely scattershot, but once it gets to the party sequence there are more than enough jokes that when one is wide of the mark, the next one will probably hit. It's not a great comedy or anything, but there are definitely laughs to be had. Bobby Moynihan is definitely the highlight.

The story sucks, but it's actually quite funny in places and Fey and Poehler are likeable. It's fine would be the general gist.

Should have been called The Party (2015). The funniest parts came from bit players like Maya Rudolph and Bobby Moynihan. Dianne Wiest saying "I'm cuntingly disappointed in you" was also great.

Needed a dash of Melissa McCarthy but that pinch of John Cena was just right. I'll see you again Sisters when you're on Netflix in 8 months.

Sisters is a typical comedy: a few funny jokes here and there, interspersed with filler and joined by a mediocre story

A sub-par, but entertaining movie that tries to capture the magic of the performers' relationship with an average script and low-fidelity direction.

It's lucky that it does star Fey and Poehler, as they truly elevate the material and are both likable and funny. The supporting cast is good too, with my personal favourite being Moynihan, who definitely got the most laughs out of me. It's really nothing special, though. It has the old comedy standard of a party getting out of control. I won't pretend it wasn't entertaining, because it was, but none of it is really original. At 2 hours, it's also a bit too long.

While Sisters is a mess, it's a fun and funny mess that gives us two more hours of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, which is almost always a good thing. The two are so funny and so charming that it's hard to hate anything they do, although it is about a half hour too long for the amount of laughs it contains. Is it funny? Yes, it's quite funny. It's another (moderate) success for Fey and Poehler, even if it feels like a better movie probably could have been made from this premise.

Another disappointment in my books, or maybe I've just out grown these types of comedies. As much as I like both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, they couldn't save this largely unfunny comedy. In fact, I found it really hard to like Tina Fey's character so that may have contributed to this. The SNL cameos ranged from 'meh' to annoying. In fact I struggle a little to remember parts I found funny.

A movie that while enjoyable could have and should have been better. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have undeniable chemistry and that made it a much easier movie to sit through. Gags were largely a mixed bag but almost none of the dramatic/emotional moments worked outside of the basic premise. Great supporting cast that could have been given more to do. The exception was Bobby Moynihan who absolutely nailed his role. There's a good movie here. They just needed to rework the screenplay a little bit.

One exhaustingly awkward sketch after another, each lingering a few minutes too long. I'm unsure if this painful awkwardness was intentional, but I couldn't look away from it. It was draining, but weirdly enjoyable, like a really bizarre and shameful sexual encounter I will only ever speak of among a select few.

When it hits it works very well since the people involved have great comedic timing and delivery, but it's a very uneven film and those low points are borderline unbearable. It doesn't help that the premise is pretty uninteresting on its own and the ending is absurd in a really banal way.

Everything outside the party scenes are horrible. Any try at emotion in it is terribly done. Lots of wasted people here (Glaser and Rudolph for example), but Fey and Poehlers obviously great chemistry saves this thing.

You know what, I usually like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler together, but in this...I LOVED them together. I've seen Baby Mama, and the roles are completely reversed in this movie. With witty, yet crude humor, it makes for pretty damn funny collaboration.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler should always play sisters since that's how they come across anyway. The film itself is only as good as whatever joke it's currently telling, so it swings from great to mediocre. For my money, Moynihan's unrelenting anti-humor is what got me laughing the hardest.

I so wanted to enjoy this film because of guilty crushes on the two leads and respect for their comedy chops. Sadly the comedy fuelling this vehicle is pretty hit-and-miss stuff. I like a house party film as much as the next person, but I really thought these two could provide something more witty and intelligent than just drunk people getting naked and falling about the place. These ladies have the delivery skills, but without a truly funny script they will never be box office gold.

I mean, it's what you'd expect...a bunch of funny one liners spread over incoherent madness. It's not John Candy and Steve Martin, but the chemistry is there and it's fun. Tina Fey with carte blanche for vulgarity really is a beautiful thing.

The two stars are so easily likable that the movie doesn't have to try so hard. If the writers had actually come up with a solid story here - this could have worked beyond the occasional hit-or-miss joke. As is, it's too juvenile, vulgar and simple-minded to be memorable. Think Bridesmaids meets Project X.

Kind of having enough of these movies where people in their 40's have a party to remember their teens. Great joke writing during the party scenes. The rest is atrocious.

Fey and Poehler deliver a high-school party movie that no one asked for. Oddly enough the dramatic elements are on point; unfortunately the comedy isn't. There are plenty of laughs (mainly from Moynihan), but plenty more jokes fall flat, and some are just too cringeworthy (mainly from Rudolph). Overall a mixed bag, but the barrage of ex-SNL supporting actors just made me long for 30 Rock and Parks & Rec, when they were all just funnier.

For some reason they decided to show the least funny parts of this movie in trailers which probably turned some people away. I found it quite humorous though. It's a little slow to get started, and the actual plot is mediocre, but once they get to the party scene (which lasts nearly half the movie) there are a ton of laughs. Cena, Moynihan, Bee, and Leguizamo are all stand outs. Wish they would have done more with Jon Glaser and Kate McKinnon though.

Usually in dysfunctional family comedies like this one there's at least a modicum of a redemptive payoff somewhere. And I suppose that Kate's reconciliation with her daughter technically counts. Still, when these two sisters' parents tell them to just leave, you know the filmmakers aren't really concerned about crafting a tearjerker ending. (pluggedin.com)

There were some very funny and unexpected jokes. And I mean the kind of funny where you just gotta lough out loud. But honestly, I expected more from the probably funniest comedic duo there is at the moment. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it very much because seeing Poehler and Fey act and interact with each other is actually enough to like this movie.

SISTERS is a comedy with actual heart, and its patience in teasing out the relationship between its heroines is refreshing. The humor lands somewhere in a pleasant neighborhood between precise and shaggy, though it's kind of difficult to buy Fey playing against type as a free-spirited party girl.

Some quirky & funny bits. I liked Amy Poehler and Tina Fey as the leads. Maya Rudolph was conspicuously unfunny & unsatisfying. Many smirk worthy moments but few were laugh out loud. It was fun to watch the adults party & trash the house. Nice sink hole. The daughter drama was not good. The parent drama slightly better. Mostly entertaining but ultimately quite forgettable.

It had an obvious amount of over the top comedy, but that is exactly what was expected. A few of the jokes sailed right on by without connection for the home run and that unfortunately stopped it from being the best comedy of the year. It took a leap of faith sometimes that whatever Poehler and Fey say is comedic gold, when the best laughs came from Cena, Moynihan and Rudolph. It was still a fun romp with some gut busting laughs and that was enough to make it a worth while film.

A mess of a comedy from the Sisters (2015) Amy Poehler & Tina Fey. Wanted to like it as they were trying hard, but most of this feels like desperate improv. Party gets wild and partially saves some of impression, but they made it painful to watch people in their 40s behave like teens.

Because Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, and Pitch Perfect are all things I like, I was excited for Sisters, but it was a huge disappointment for me. I found the premise of the film irritating. This party would never happen like this, ever, and it wasn't absurd enough to work as a satire. Tina Fey stepped out of her element well, but I did not find her character funny. It was crass without being clever so it came across as distasteful. I will admit, I had several moment of hard and honest laughter, but
