A dream vacation that turns into a tropical nightmare. A gruff, rough-hewn cargo pilot living in the islands, Quinn Harris (Ford) hates tourists ... though he's not above making a fast buck from a sharp-tongued New Yorker, Robin Monroe (Heche), when she's desperate for a quick flight to Tahiti. But this already uneasy relationship suddenly takes a nosedive when his weather-beaten old plane is forced down in a storm, stranding the duo. (Buena Vista)

this movie is actually quite funny and clever! It's nothing that amazing or incredible, but it is always fun to watch, and a good "catch-all" movie in that there's something for most-everyone, and something for most-every movie mood!:D

Fun fluff! Poor trying to act, David Schwimmer. Friends just shackled him to being Ross forever.

I've seen this film before. Back in 1988, and again in 1978. Different actors and all, but how many times have we seen people stranded on an island fighting pirates or whatever? These plots keep getting more and more retarded.

Harrison Ford and Anne Heche have some chemistry, but overall it was frequently unconvincing. Everything related to the pirates was especially bad. This movie has a few good elements and some of it was intriguing. Well worth watching if only for the beautiful scenery and unlikely love story between them. Heche is beautiful but her and Harrison Ford seemed somewhat mismatched. This would have been much better if more of the movie was on the island and about their survival and love story.

There is enough action to make this rom com actually tolerable. It isn't good mind you but compared to some of the more straight forward counterparts of the genre, it's pretty damn fun.

If you had to spend six days and seven nights stranded on a beach would you pick Harrison Ford and... Anne Heche? It sounds like a weird combination and it is. They have no, none, and zero chemistry.

Hey, chemistry is chemistry. Catch it on TV at 2 AM and then put a cigarette out on your arm if you have to go with the grain, but I found this stupidly entertaining.

Pretty much the standard fare here, weak on the adventure consisting mostly of disconnected events, but Harrison & Anne manage to put enough life into their lines to make their wacky romance tasty. The moral is you cant be in love with more than one person at a time, or be in love with one person & have sex with someone else, or even think about someone else. This sort of product placement bugs me more than the beer ads.

In the South Pacific island of Makatea, career-driven magazine editor Robin Monroe (Anne Heche) is on a week-long vacation getaway with her boyfriend, Frank Martin (David Schwimmer). A work assignment in neighboring Tahiti requires Robin to hire a cargo plane piloted by the cantankerous Quinn Harris (Harrison Ford). But when a powerful storm forces Quinn to make an emergency landing on a nearby deserted island, the dissimilar pair learn to set aside their differences in order to find rescue.

Unoriginal and bland, but Harrison Ford and Anne Heche are good enough craftsmen, that even when clearly working on only half their effort, they keep this from becoming complete garbage.

No less than five Star Wars actors should be a record for a non-SW movie. Anyway, the movie is nothing special but it's an easy watch and Harrison Ford shines in a role tailor-made for him.
