Better than I anticipated. Though basically an American History X knockoff, this film manages to be just as captivating. While the writing in AMX is far better, the cinematography is better here. The lead acting is about on par, with Bell putting on a great performance. However, unlike in AMX, the radical character transformation from radical neo-nazi to former neo-nazi is not well developed, at all. Though it leaves questions that probably should've been answered, it's not a deal breaker.

Wellmeaning. EDIT: Okay, maybe that one word review was a bit too pithy even for my standards. What I mean, is that we've seen this story a lot. White racist guy learns the errors of his way (this one didn't even have a particularly compelling reason for doing so) and does better. The thing with the tattoos was the only slightly different take on the story. Honestly, I would much rather have had this story be about Mike Coulter's character and what drove him and made him do what he did.

Lead & gang = Bit lardy with ugly face mutilating prisonish tats ("Skin") trapping them in that life. •Brutal film, v dark material. •Odd 4 flash-fwds 2 undercut fear 4 end. Yet still many heart clenching scenes •V believable & nasty (mainly violent acts tho not leering). •High Quality + Grueling
