A couple interesting death scenes (acid bath!), but this is a pretty terrible slasher. I know that having unlikable characters is par for the course in this genre, but it really reaches new heights here - not once do you *not* want this collection of douchey a-holes to bite it. Completely nonsensical ending, too.

Sometime after having a child and taking him to swim lessons I realized that if the lifeguards were too busy flirting and trying to get a hit of wacky tobacky to save my son from drowning, I would wreak havoc on them, and any lifeguard I ever saw doing the same. Now suddenly I'm the villain from Friday the 13th. This movie isn't a third of that film, but I could see it doing the same thing for bullies. Caroline Munro is gorgeous, even as a 37 year old masquerading as a teen. Do It For Marty!

As is usual of the slasher genre, this film exhibits a slew of excellent performances, well wrought scenes of suspense and an immaculate understanding of drama. No, wait- The opposite is true.

Top badass moment? WTF? Who on earth was responsible for the science room at Doddsville County? Ofsted would've have a field day. The control and maintenance of chemicals and equipment was appalling; was there even a lockable COSHH cabinet available? Chemicals were stored dangerously and in inadequately labelled bottles. Training and supervision of students was clearly minimal or non-existent; smoking, no PPE in use, not even gloves and goggles. A disgrace! No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

By the numbers slasher but you just can't help but root for Marty!

The premise is great, & the April Fools gimmick is neat, but the execution is lacking to put it lightly. The acting goes from being bad in a campy, fun way to just bad by the halfway mark, & the characters are impossibly dumb even by slasher standards. They're also all flat as boards & terrible people, from the killer to the final girl, so there's nobody to root for. A few references here & there and some admittedly enjoyable kills aren't enough to save this from being a pretty lame mess,

A bunch of british adults pretending to be american high school students in a fulci meets halloween rip off. Too bad it's not as awesome as it sounds.

It's everything you expect from a low budget '80s horror film nothing more or less just by the numbers.

Feeling like a film made in the fag-end of the 80s slasher genre - although I'm not going to dismiss the entire late 80s until I see a lot more from then - this shows all the bad aspects of the horror genre let alone the slashers. For its few moments, you have to go through completely unlikable characters, boring stalking sequences, and a pointless twist ending which knocked a mark off the score. As in any genre, there is a lot of crap to shift through and sadly I have to stick this in there.

Here's the thing. This movie has a bizarre twist that makes all complaints about unreality and lack of logic irrelevant, and I kind of love it for it. Sure it's really indifferently put together and completely lacking in suspense, but it has an extremely nasty and sleazy edge to it that really bears the stamp of producer Dick Randall (who has a cameo) and it goes so bizarrely off the rails in the last few minutes that it saves the whole film for me.

Ridiculous ending.

The opening sequence is brutally effective, and Scuddamore is interesting as the killer, but most of the movie he's behind a mask and seems quite generic. The movie as a whole is rather conventional, and aside from a a few interesing death scenes the movie is pretty forgettable.
