Snake Eyes

An origin story that nobody asked for, presented in a manner that few will care about.

On par with the IQ level of the source material.

Better than other GI Joe movies I've seen (the "comedic" ones w/ a Wayans) but those were awful so that's not saying much. The studio seems to be going for a Joe Cinematic Universe, so this is much less kid-pandering (people actually die from many shootings & stabbings) & that's good for me, but the story choice to have Snake Eyes be a giant ahole traitor who's forgiven too easily is bad. The last car chase & battles work but its too little too late bc the martial arts before it is just ok.

Abe and Golding are okay, but Snake Eyes remains mediocre-to-bad film that has problems in almost every aspect of its production. None of the characters are interesting. The plot is both vacuous and derivative. The score is generic and annoying. The lighting is off-putting. Somehow it fills 2 hours, but it's not cheesy or fun, it's just forgettable.

Snake Eyes has a lot going for it. Henry Golding does well with what is given to him. It's pretty entertaining, and it actually takes the franchise in a less bombastic and goofy direction. However, the story is pretty convoluted until everything comes full circle, and it leaves Snake Eyes himself pretty unlikable for the majority of its runtime. I know people are fussing about the shaky cam, but it really isn't that bothersome or significant. Better than the last two, if that counts.

Galactically stupid, to be certain. But arguably its bigger crime still is just not feeling anything like GI Joe. I was actually having flashbacks to that Street Fighter Chun Li movie with the chick from Smallville (which also didn’t feel anything like Street Fighter). Contains one of the most egregious examples ever of “nooo I killed like a billion nameless mooks but if I kill the one major bad guy I hate most I’ll be just like them” lmao

Crapped out.

For a film that's supposed to be a soft reboot (I guess), it offers very little in the way of enticement. Why is this so much more bland than the flawed-but-campy fun of the other G.I. Joe films?

The huge GI-Joe collection I have in the garage (Snake Eyes being the crown jewel) prevents me from "Not liking" this movie. Gi-JOE characters transferred surprisingly well to live-action movies, and this one is nothing special but yet it flows and the whole setting is kind of believable. They should have used Snake Eyes like The Mandalorian though, that was the real appeal.

Better than I thought it would be.

The motorcycle fight scene has some ok moments, the others sometimes start to feel interesting but the editing ruins them. Long boring stretches between.

This movie was shit and while I didn't walk out of the theater I wanted to ask for my money before remembering I got in for free. The acting, fights, directing, music, editing, let's be real here everything sucked and was painfully bad.

i guess i am the only one that liked this, about on par with the very fist G.I. joe film way better than the one with the Rock.

Orijin filmlerde her zaman rastlanan tempo düşmesi zaman zaman bu filmde de var dolayısıyla serinin diğer filmlerine göre zayıf gibi ama genel olarak bakıldığında yine de başarılı özellikle son dönemde dövüş sahnesi bile çekemeyen filmler arasında iyi bir yer edinmeyi başarıyor. Oyuncular çok iyi seçilmiş.

Action film. Çocuk yaşta, babasının öldürülmesini gören Japon gencimiz, 2 yakuza kardeş arasında kalır. İntikam almak için kötü kardeşin yanında olmak mı? İyi kardeşin yanında, kötü kardeşi öldürmeye çalışmak mı? Kötünün içinde iyilik felsefesini kullanan film, öykü anlatımı iyi olsa da, işleyiş olarak kötü. Hatta çok abartılmış saçma aksiyon sahneleri var. Bu da film izleme seyrinden çok dalga geçme modunda oluşuyor. Filmin sonunda, sinsi. yılan. Egolarımı lego yaptım.

Generic on every level possible. And since I wasn't really a big G.I. Joe fan as a kid, I don't even remember who Snake Eyes was, the film had a upward battle to make me care about him. Let's just say I still don't care who Snake Eyes is. Had they done the origin story on Sgt. Slaughter, it would've been a different matter!

Lifeless and dull. Everything a movie about Snake Eyes shouldn't be. Golding is miscast and the action is monotone and utterly boring.

He is Snake Eyes and yet, the Snakes wanted to devour him hahaha
