Story starts off ok, but then tails off. The actual 'sniper' element of the film is pretty poor and kinda fumbles its way into the story, it seemed as if they may be trying to build the character for the next wave of the Sniper movies. Watchable with a couple of good parts but not a patch on the original or Shooter.

This film got its politics all wrong. There 'aint no terrorists in the Congo, it's a damned civil war. Also, I mean, I was paying attention, and I still don't know why that other sniper went rogue. He wanted to kill that white farmer guy for some reason, but when he had the chance to take him out he shot like 8 U.N. soldiers instead. And just on a technical basis, it's not an interesting sniper movie. Watch instead: any other movie about snipers.

This was fun to watch but there really isn't much to say about it. The acting and action are about what you'd expect, although the director relies on some silly camera tricks which do little but unnecessarily disorient the viewer (i.e. not the good, shaky cam Bourne stuff). The pacing is good, but the action is a bit unbelievable (and unlike fun commando movies, like Rambo, sniper films need to be grounded in reality) and the story isn't all that interesting.
