Comedy
1h 29m
When an entire town in upstate New York is closed down by an unexpected snowfall, a "snow day" begins when a group of elementary school kids, led by Natalie Brandston, try to ensure that the schools stay closed by stopping a mechanical snowplow driver by trying to hijack his plow truck. Meanwhile, Natalie's big brother Hal is using this day to try to win the affections of Claire Bonner, the most popular girl in his high school, while Hal and Natalie's father Tom, a TV meteorologist, faces off against a rival meteorologist for weather coverage of the day's events. As fondly as I remember the carefree days of my childhood, I have no desire to relive them vicariously through boring, predictable movies with generic characters and plotlines. I don't care if it's harmless entertainment; it's dull.

The fart jokes turn me off, and so do the messages, the people are so charming though! I had a really good time most of the time. Another picture giving footage to snow globes, that's so been there done that since that dumb EYE film, they could have thought of something more original! Nice part with Iggy Pop. He totally should gave got a piece off that hot chick before going with the right choice!

Horrendous in every way. But I guess if you're an elementary school kid who loves Snow Days, you can relate.

Disappointing that a pretty remarkable cast of characters couldn't rescue the movie. If you're outside the target audience (under 10 years old), you'll find the cliches not funny and the plot worse than mediocre. You can't tell me Bo Duke doesn't know how snow is made!

Contains all the cliches of a Nickelodeon made-for-tv movie and all of the cliches of a bad teen romance. Two for the price of one!

Could have been better considering there are quite a few decent actors here. it just becomes rather silly and annoying for anyone over 8 years old.

It wasn't offensive but it was pretty boring. As a time-capsule of turn of the century American culture it is valuable but that's really about it. None of the comedy is really funny. Josh Peck's incessant farting is probably the only thing that I laughed at. Chevy Chase played this whole movie as Clark W. Griswald but way less funny or likable. I wouldn't even recommend this movie to an 8 year-old kid from 2000 when it came out. You could do much better kid.

Plodding comedy aimed at kids but I can’t imagine its target audience getting much more out of it than us bigger kids – a kind of sleepy, low-stakes effort which is at least not too abrasive, though Elliott’s snow-plow man seems to have wandered in from a darker toned movie; nominal “star” Chase is probably the highlight, doing a limp Griswold reprise (with one sequence an almost direct steal). Notable for its well-stocked cameo list: Pop's pedantic DJ is good for a couple of chuckles.
