I'd rather see Hopkins's and Farrells roles switched. Also everything felt like it was written for a high school project. Not even some great scenes neither cast could keep viewer in suspense throughout the movie.

It's actually quite funny - NOT the movie, but my thoughts on the matter. I've watched some 2000 films and have many times said to myself, "if I ever where to make a movie I would want this!" or "I would want that in my movie! That, he, she or it was SO awesome!". And I believe that if I ever by some miracle where given the chance to make an actual hollywood film, it would become close to this crazy mess that "Solace" is. It's all over the place on so many aspects. HA! It's hilarious! *Bad

A waste of good talent. This film is unbelievably scattered it's almost laughable. Skip for your own good.

Pretty good, creative film. Anthony Hopkins is not up to par, but I see the overall merit of the film.

Was OK. Could have been much better, but it seems hard to pull off the logic of psychic powers in a story, so I found myself checking too often whether what just happened made logical sense. Which is a shame, because it took away from a compelling idea about terminal illness and mercy killing. A better version would have been more like Ghost or The Sixth Sense.

Felt like the pilot episode to a tv show, but with big names instead of lesser known actors. Interesting and unusual at the beginning, but gets less good along the way. The production seems a bit lower than average.

This has the making of being a good movie. It's got a stellar cast, the premise is promising, and it's got some good shots... but somewhere in between all of this it just never comes together to fully use all of those ingredients. It feels like a mess, with choosing between the dark serial killer moods and those fast 'cool' shots that go pew pew pew as is only fashionable. The movie just gets way too confused with what it wants to be and it leaves you feeling that way, as well.

A story with great potential is let down by a bad script.

Whilst the idea behind the serial killing in Solace is a good one (no spoilers) and reasonably novel, the film itself is so ram full of cliched characters and contrivences that it quickly tries the viewers patience. You might get away with one occasion where someone is killed, but it turns out to be forethought and not reality, but you cannot keep doing it, because it becomes tedious and obvious. Really, you have seen everything in this film before, done better, so go and watch something else

Profoundly bad which is exactly why I find myself kind of loving it. It has an essence of unbelievable choices that almost has to be witnessed. Discussing it feels like an exercise in futility but no words can capture the sense of, "They didn't really, did they?" that this film lives on. Recommended if I'm in the room with you.

The story sure had potential, but sadly nobody used it. The flat characters made it fairly difficult to feel anything but annoyance towards them, especially with those overly dramatic pasts they were burdened with (ever heard bout 'show don't tell'?). The end just made everything unnecessarily confusing - or maybe that was just cause my mind had already checked out midway through the movie...

Solace (2015) is a thrilling, but also frustrating experience. Story intrigues, but the production aspect doesn't always impress, which I guess is why this has been on the shelf for a couple of years. Got to love having Anthony Hopkins as a FBI associate running around in the city chasing a psycho at his age! He's too old for that game! But you got to appreciate him trying!
