The characters are completely at the mercy of the director and have little to no sense of agency or coherence. They're more like dolls the director plays with; and when this director plays with dolls he prefers to rape them a lot, apparently. The serial killer plot unravels into a bizarro capture-bonding situation and it's completely unconvincing. Some good things but the narrative is a total failure. It wants to be dark and impassioned but it mostly comes across as cheap torture porn.

Yes, a great bleak atmosphere which stays with you a long time, but the the plot and the experimental inventions by Grandrieux are too repetitive to excite me for 2 hours.

An artsy presentation of gratuitous violence for the cheapest of thrills. A romantic angle is pursued, as a seemingly deranged/loser woman is attracted to the danger of sexing a psychopath. But essentially a well disguised snuff movie with no discernable value or redemption. The film should be destroyed and forgotten before it makes trouble. Garbage. If you like this stuff you need help right away. Quit watching the Tour de France and check in at a mental health facility

Looks great, occasional overuse of shake camera. Great soundtrack. Moody ponderous tone. Boring serial killer plot gives way to impossible romance. I can't relate.

An art house take on the serial killer. Not for everyone.
