Something Like Summer

My apologies to the director for what must have been an excruciatingly painful project. You did your best I'm sure. But, the casting, acting and script were possibly the worst thing in film I have seen in 40 years. The decision to include disconnected musical numbers with poorly performed and written songs were also a new low. For what appears to be a completely gay cast and crew, I expected better. Maybe this is why Hollywood never cast gay people in gay roles. So disappointed as a gay man.

Points for the directing and unintentionally funny moments. The director legitimately did better than the majority of low budget directors of gay films, the film looks really good. The acting is pretty mediocre, but the script takes the cake for the worst element of the film, in fact I think I lost some brain cells watching this at times. The movie feels like an entire melodramatic miniseries compressed into 90 min. Oh, and the trailer failed to mention it’s a musical, which is another 30 min.
