Something to Sing About is definitely nothing to sing about. Fairly standard lower budget song and dancing affair. Very few laughs. Very few decent songs, if any. Some of the minor dancing numbers were good, but they were more intermission samples then a full sequences. James Cagney is a natural. Very few others were, especially the leading ladies which hurt the romance bit. William Frawley grew gradually in his sidekick role without reaching any peak.
