Intruiging analysis of familial dynamics amidst illness. Expectations, disappointment and surprises. A thoughtful movie.

Here Chereau takes what would otherwise normally be a Lifetime Network "disease of the week" story and infuses it with his typical skillful technique. The results are predictably not as amazing as Intimacy or Those Who Love Me..., however the acting is great and Eric Gautier is still the best cinematographer in the world as far as i'm concerned.

Watched this after it was awarded in Berlin Interntaional FF. Chereau is brilliant and director and with this film he manages to bring us very dark drama about relationship between brothers. Wonderfully filmed and has great musical score.
