The low budget Lash La Rue westerns of 1949 feels more entertaining than previous years. It's not like the production looks any better, but the focus on what makes them work seems to be there. Like giving "Fuzzy" Al St. John something to do, like that wonderful thing he had going with that dizzy dame he was paired with.
