Introducing Jane Powell to the silver screen! And they packaged her in with too many distractions to really make her a instant star. I honestly don't know how to feel about Song of the Open Road (1944), for there was so much going on, yet so little of it made much impression, except Powell's incredible voice to few scenes she was allowed to sing her lungs out. W.C. Fields second-to-last screen appearance before passing, but even that was a DUD thanks to his drinking problems.
