On some level it works when it meshes together the chemistry of the crew but the plot becomes increasingly eyerolling the more it tries to moralize itself with pointless, shitty backstories and a lame villain. This isn't made better by the messy cohesion in its action setpieces; one scene has a character literally swoop down on a rope to rescue someone but then all of a sudden he's back on his ship? The movie has enough personality and a few good scenes to make me not resent it at least.

This was absolutely the wildest shit I have ever found on Netflix. It was also horrible.

Boring, I drifted off after about 30 minutes. Needs to be some development within that time. Should've been max 1h30.

Eh. Wants to be some sort of mixup of Fifth Element and Serenity, but never really has the character, the humour or the bonkersness to come close.

Some great futuristic concepts and visuals cannot adequately compensate for a torturous film.

This is basically a Korean Scifi B-movie Star Wars knockoff, complete with space battles, a magical child, cute robot, giant spherical space station, scary space marine Imperial storm trooper types, and a cybernetically augmented main villain. The special effects are decent, the actors bring plenty of personality to their roles. Reasonably fun.

I would give it a higher score if they had cast an actual trans woman but still pretty great

Made in Korea so the dialog and performances can be a bit over the top but still enjoyable and fun to watch.

The chaotic mess of a script could have used some profound editing (Richard Elon Musk Armitage should have just been a vague entity) but I'll be damned if it isn't effective, and I was entirely sucked in during the final act. It's all about the found family, and they're gorgeous, from the adorable kid to the android saving up for gender affirming surgery. I got really emotional in the last half hour.

Cool characters in a nice take on futuristic sci-fi make for an entertaining movie that has surprisingly good CGI. If you are in the mood for some Cowboy Bebop (though not on the same level) like action flick, go for it.

Enjoyable sci-fi romp from South Korea with surprisingly good special effects. I really liked the international flair of this future scenario, but some of the non-Korean actors are a little awkward.

The plot kinds of makes fun of films like Interstellar that try to make us believe space is the answer to earth's ecological doom. Apart from that, it's all over the place. Some of the visuals are great, but some of the tech makes absolutely no sense. Could have been a bit more concise, and a little lighter on the deus ex machina happy end. Anyway, a fun mess

A small feel-good movie with lots of action and CGI. Don't expect much other than shutting your brain down for ~2 hrs and you'll be fine.

Such a ridiculous movie. What kind of a mind creates this level of crap? I have no idea. The new record holder for the most expensive garbage ever. If you think this film deserves watching, you're just wrong.

I really wanted to like Space Sweepers. The film has tons of well-rendered VX shots, lots of space battles, & arrays of colourful bright lights; and it's all a bit much. The diversity in casting is laudable, even if the acting is subpar. The cheesiness of the plot could have been forgiven or even enjoyable had the film been engaging. The screenplay and dialogue are just not good. The film feels really long, constantly dragging through exposition scenes before another meaningless CGI-fest occurs.

The cinematography kept me engaged, otherwise would have switched it off. Halfway through it's more coherent and engaging. If they toned down the childish atmosphere it would have been so much better.

Really cute and campy, but overly long and with a painfully awkward script, from a meandering structure to the dialogue. It really looked beautiful though, and showed a future full of story potential that I wish had been more fleshed out. Bubs the robot was awesome.

Cheesy (intentional?) dialog and situations. Somehow felt a lot longer than it was. Cute robot.

Enjoyed it, despite the odd mix of accents. It's got a good dynamic between the crew and their goals/wants are well established. Visuals look quite good, with both CGI and sets up to the task. Some of the actors, particularly English-speaking, are bad. The dialogue and circumstances can be cheesy, making it more like an anime. I didn't think it was slow but the movie feels 3+ hours long for some reason.

What I liked: good main actors, dynamic between crew and kid. Decent story and good CGI. The movie takes it time to explore backgrounds of characters. What I disliked: bad accents of American actors, what is up with the villain, the black foxes are pretty lame imo.
