Species: The Awakening

Admitted: I didn't manage to watch this trash from start to finish, because I've seen enough horror-franchises to know that, when a given sequel is filmed in a pseudo-arthouse style, has almost no pacing, an abstract "plot" and little-to-none link to the original movie other than tits, it's time to move on...

The film opens with the introduction of yet another Hybrid - 'Miranda' (nothing particularly original, but by this point, I wasn't expecting anything too different from what I had already seen in the previous films). Miranda is played by the second actress to take Natasha Henstridge's place as the lead role, Helena Mattsson. It isn't long before we are introduced to her "Uncle" Tom, who appears to be some sort of cheap Harrison Ford alternative.

They enitrely forgot the original concept. Sexploitation with covered and non-covered naked female bodies. Rash on niples was the most funniest invention though. No sense of plot of any kind.

The fourth installment into the series is harshly criticized by a large majority. It totally has the feel of the original and really is pretty good for a smaller budget film. This is the first without Henstridge, but the lovely Mattsson is a fine replacement.

Out of focus dream/sex sequence, badly done special effects, etc., bring this sexploitation film down.

The elements of a exciting film are there: hybrid human-aliens rooming around, a wacky scientist with a sexy assisant, a gritty setting in Mexico, but it all combines to a standard B-movie. It has some memorable scenes like the hybrid-alien nun jumping on some roofs and the 'end-fight' between the two women.

Just crap film hot chick, retarded story line, retarded special effects, at least it had the hot chick.
