It was very difficult experience to watch this movie for me. First of all, it's rare film. There was only one dvdrip on the internet. I downloaded that copy but the film was silent! I found the youtube link (part 2 was still missing..) and english subs (Subtitles which is telling the screenplay like "bell rings.." is sometimes very useful).. Then i played the movie at kmplayer and the same time on youtube.. You know how is watching a movie with trying to synchronize the audio feels..worth? maybe

Verhoeven demonstrates an early inclination toward shocking visuals, candid sex and colorful brutality, though his perceptive direction is anything but reckless or immature. It's loaded with youthful cruelty, authentic action and sexual frankness, purely to tell possibly the most brutally honest, direct and unaffected movie about sex, masculinity and coming of age that I might've ever seen.

Viewed February 21, 2022. The bleakest teen comedy ever made, Paul Verhoeven’s portrait of a bunch of amateur motorbike racers in a small Dutch city is a caustic vision of a world with a perpetually adolescent mindset. It undercuts every moment of reverie with brutal scenes of its main characters’ bigotry, and counters their coming-of-age triumphs with moments of darkly comic tragedy.

Great, subversive work from PV. Graphic, lurid, vibrant, and genuinely both sad and uplifting. Verhoeven's best early work by far.

Barely decent

Festival Hauer/Verhoeven em honra de Rutger Hauer (1944 - 2019) filme #4. Esse filme é tão absurdo que nem sei – também não sei qual é a pira do Verhoeven de que as pessoas gostam de ser estupradas, parece aqueles tios que pensam em “estupro corretivo”. O que vocês vem como libertário eu vejo como ultra-conservador em seu cinema, não é à toa que só homens hetero o consideram genial, ele é o ápice do estabelecimento do status-quo. Very Nice Movie

In typical Verhoeven fashion, he goes all out with this worst case scenario "wild youth" film. Filled with sex of differing varieties and excecuted with cruel glee.
