Five minutes in and I started rolling my eyes at the cheap-looking knock-off Elf wanna-be.

Kinda surprised but I liked this. It's not a classic by any means and it has flaws like a couple weak songs and being overlong but I giggled a fair amount and was entertained. You could do a lot worse trying to find something to watch with family even though it's pretty cursey for the young 'uns but I appreciated that. Feels like they never do PG-13 christmas movies, was Scrooged the last big one?

I liked Spirited's self-aware take on A Christmas Carol, but the film is at least 20 minutes too long thanks to too many showtune musical numbers. Ferrell & Reynolds are decent. There are plenty of laughs throughout the film, alongside plenty of high energy dance numbers. There's even an incredibly odd Dench cameo. The film's not going to a Xmas classic, nor will any of the songs be stuck in your head the next day, but it's family-friendly fun that's easy watching.

I was hoping for a new rewatchable holiday film, but this was not it. It lacked the humor I expected from the two stars, and some of the singing was cringe-worthy.

This is how you do musical comedy - hits both the feels and the funny bone. It's also how you put a surprisingly fresh and satisfying spin on the well-worn tropes of 'A Christmas Carol.' A new holiday classic I will definitely revisit for years to come.

A good start, but went formulaic. I'm a big Ryan fan, but i felt he phoned this one in. Grow a beard or get a shave man! You've got to start working it in your forties to avoid looking haggard.

I don't like musicals... and this one had a lot of it... until the time I gave up watching it!

This movie has some good moments and scenes. Unfortunately it drags at times and this film would have worked better as not a musical. The musical numbers aren't great and they don;t really add much to this movie. Overall this film is disappointing.

Surprisingly fun! Has some catchy tunes (and not too many of them to become repetitive).

Over all it was enjoyable. Maybe a little much on the singing. A little too long, but still enjoyable.

Fans of Will Ferrell or Ryan Reynolds will probably enjoy this unique take on The Christmas Carol. They each play themselves quite well. Good dancing. Not so great singing.

Overlong and overindulgent, but the title is fitting, as there may not be a more spirited Christmas movie in existence. The cast is good, the music works, and there's enough humor to satisfy the funny bone.

While "Spirited" is not a masterpiece, it is a great Christmas movie that manages to work despite its issues. The commitment of everyone involved, from the well-shot musical sequences to the crisp direction, makes up for the film's unease with the musical genre. The duo of Ferrell and Reynolds make a great pair, bouncing off each other like the tremendous comic teams of yesteryear, and the level of intrigue added to the familiar story in the second half adds to the film's charm.

A thoroughly alright Christmas movie. It is elevated in the month of December by some 10-20 points just for being... holiday. There aren't a lot of great Christmas offerings, and this will fit nicely with season themed movie nights, viewed every few years or so. Some slightly more adult humor throughout the film precludes this from family watching, but paired with Elf and Daddy's Home 2, would make an interesting Ferrell themed Christmas marathon. Just random thoughts.

It's hard to rate because parts of it I didn't like, others I found interesting. I wasn't a fan of all the singing and dancing, pretty ironical for a musical. Some were just too long or too generic. It felt at times like a Seth McFarlane ego piece, you know when he casts himself and sings? This except for Reynolds, and it was cringy. The romance, the theme of trying to change, giving personality to ghosts, and some of the defying expectations in the memories were new and catchy.
