Upper lips so stiff you could launch a plane off them. Spiffing.

Classic war film.

A well-meaning patriotic picture about building aircraft that could compete with the Germans, starring such great British gentlemen as Leslie Howard & David Niven. Howard, who himself would be shot down and killed the following year by the Nazis. In that regard this film feels extra important. However, it's a slow and monotonous drama. The acting was of fine quality. But the story structure left a lot to be desired. For me, anyway. There were no highs or lows.
