Split Second

Feels like a film that's cashing in on the success of Blade Runner, but better than such a cash-in has any right to be. The two films don't have loads in common (associations with Alien and Predator might be more fitting), but the smell of copycat is there. Funnily enough, Harrison Ford was first choice for the main role and Rutger Hauer is what they ended up with... I can't call this good, I can't rate it good; but damn if it isn't entertaining.

Over-the-top bad boy cop Harley Stone is actually pretty good. His rookie partner Durkin is the show stealer here. He has some really good one-liners and his metamorphosis from inept rookie to badass through the film is fun to watch. Gotta love a serial killer named Scorpio Demon.
