Spontaneous Combustion

This is a 90's b-movie dressed up like an 80's b-movie.

Director/writer Tobe Hooper's terrible accidental superhero movie gone wrong with this atomic powered sci-fi/horror. In the movie spontaneous human combustion is the residual side-effect of 50's experimental anti-radiation tests. Brad Dourif stars as the second generation test subject that transmits SHC through physical contact like a virus, or through angry thoughts like Drew Barrymore in "Firestarter"(1984). So much death could have been avoided by just learning how to fart in moderation.

Any movie where you can shout fire through a telephone is all right in my book, Dourif is a perfect bit of casting

Spontaneous Combustion was one of those things like the Bermuda triangle or quick sand that I was mildly afraid of as a child. Kinda worried about the wrong spontaneous combustion

Crap. Brad Dourif keeps this from being Tier 1.

A slight dig past the anti nuclear parable there's a deeper message of how families pass down trauma. Where no matter what you do you end up burning the people you hate and more importantly, the people you love. Also, Brad Dourif goes off the deep end and that's always entertaining to watch. It doesn't have a lot of Hoopers usual visual flare, but it still works.

Spontaneous combustion had me spontaneously snoring. A lot of swings and most of them were misses.

The true nuclear family meets off the chain Hooper. Great fire effects and Dourif going full Dourif.
