Bad acting and some questionable CGI doesn't make this unwatchable it just makes it yet another inferior sequel to the original. That being said it was dumb fun and made me and my wife want to watch the original.

There are nuggets of ideas in Starship Troopers 3, Invasion and ToM that maybe could have made a decent run of live-action sequels if they had gotten them pumped out at a more steady pace after 1997 with Paul Verhoeven and Van Dien/Richards/NPH/Busey returning. I'd love to live in the alternate universe where we'd gotten those instead of Verhoeven doing Hollow Man then fucking off back to Europe. But as is this animation just looks a little cheap and it all just feels a little half-assed.
