Good. A trio of convergant stories centered around a Staten Island mafia boss. The film shows promise but ultimately disappoints except for the tale involving the deaf mute delicatessen played by Seymour Cassel. If the plot had been only about him, this film would have been a winner but his part of the story and performance remain the only redeeming points of this movie. Recommended.

I mean by my terms and surely many others. Not a great "film". But I enjoyed watching it and its story.

Staten Island has such a wonderful way of telling its story. It all comes together in the end. D'Onofrio has probably the most screen time and he owns it. Hawke is great as well. But Seymour Cassel steals the show. His character was one of the most interesting and relate-able I have seen in a long time. He gave off such a heartfelt performance. A surprisingly intense film that flew too far under the radar. Go and watch it, it is stellar. All around awesome. Wonderful film.
